I am a director and theatre educator with a desire to engage artists and audiences with challenging theatre through a brave community. My work has always been built on the values of respect and collaboration. Inherient to my pedagogy is the power of stories and the inherient dignity and worth of every human being, the keepers of our stories. In the classroom, in the rehearsal room, on the stage, and in the audience, it is my utmost desire to grow each participant in the process of theatre with utmost care and courage.

I believe that creating is an act of courage, but also an act borne out of necessity. As a director and an educator, I equip my actors and students with the confidence to explore these stories fully. I pull from many different methodologies, combining the action driven motivation of Stanislavski with the impulse work of Meisner. Also drawing on the work of Michael Shurtleff, I lead my actors through a thorough exploration of the text, both analytically and physically.

As a director, I approach each rehearsal with a framework of actions, movement, and arc of the scene. I put to paper the movements of the actors, corresponding with portions of the text. I take this framework to the actors and edit, adjust, and encourage the choices that come from that framework.

I am currently pursuing my MFA at Baylor University, so that I might better encourage all artists to tell our stories generously and with abandon.
